Hill’s Pet Nutrition’s new wet pet food plant has all the latest in food safety technologies.

On October 16, 2023, Hill’s Pet Nutrition formally opened its new “smart” wet pet food manufacturing plant, a LEED Gold-certified facility that packs a series of safety innovations and AI advancements into the 325,000-square-foot building. Located in Tonganoxie, Kansas, USA, the plant was designed from the ground up to usher in advanced systems that enhance both personal and food system safety.
Chad Sharp, Hill’s director of manufacturing at Tonganoxie, spoke to Petfood Industry about some of the innovations Hill’s has added to enhance efficiency, safety and productivity for manufacturing 170+ varieties of wet pet food under the company’s Science Diet and Prescription Diet brand names.
