Two additional petfood companies issued recalls for pig ear dog treats after Illinois, USA-based supplier, Keys Manufacturing, found that a batch of the pet chews tested positive for Salmonella.
Boss Pet Products recalled its Diggers Natural Treat Pig Ear pet treats, which were distributed from November 2010 through April 2011, in the following states: Montana, California, Washington, Oklahoma, Tennessee, New York, Kansas, Ohio, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Oregon, Utah, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana and Minnesota, USA. The pig ears were sold in boxes of 100; boxes of 50; two-pack bags, shipped in cases of 12 bags; four-pack bags, shipped in cases of 12 bags; and eight-pack bags, shipped in cases of 12 bags. Blackman Industries recalled its PrimeTime Premium Pig Ears in 2-count and 5-count, as well as its all KC Beefhide Premium Pig Ears in 20-count. The products were distributed between January 4 and April 29, in the following states: Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota, USA.
