Inaba Foods USA, maker of Churu lickable treats for cats and dogs, has partnered with Petco to launch the "Journey to Japan" sweepstakes, giving pet parents the chance to experience the country and culture behind the Japanese pet food brand.
The sweepstakes runs from Sept. 15 through Oct. 3. Eligible Petco Perks members can enter for a chance to win a seven-day, six-night trip for two to Tokyo. The winner and a guest will immerse themselves in Japanese culture and visit a cat café in the country where Inaba's history began.
Inaba's roots date to 1805, when Yoshizo Inaba began harvesting fresh tuna from the sea and providing food to families throughout Japan. The family-owned company entered the pet food business in 1958.
The grand prize: Air transportation for two, six nights of hotel accommodations, ground transportation, a food and travel stipend and a curated Tokyo itinerary that includes a visit to one of the city's cat cafés.
"Inaba's Japanese heritage shapes everything from the ingredients we select to the innovation we bring to every product," said Yoko Sakugawa, vice president of operations for Inaba Foods USA. "Together with Petco, we are giving one pet parent the opportunity to experience the culture behind our brand firsthand and see where more than 220 years of family tradition began."
Petco is always looking for meaningful ways to bring pet parents closer to the brands they love, said Alison Hiatt, senior vice president of brand for Petco.
"The Journey to Japan sweepstakes gives our customers a unique opportunity to experience Inaba's heritage while celebrating the joy and connection pets bring to our lives," Hiatt added.
