United Petfood has acquired a dry pet food production facility in Decatur, Arkansas from Wellness Pet Company as part of its North American expansion strategy, marking the company's third production site in the region and strengthening its local manufacturing capabilities.

United Petfood has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a dry pet food production facility in Decatur, Arkansas, from Wellness Pet Company. The companies also signed a long-term supply agreement in conjunction with the transaction.
The company said the acquisition is part of its long-term growth strategy in North America and will strengthen its local production capabilities.
The Decatur facility will become United Petfood's third production site in North America. The company already operates facilities in Mishawaka, Indiana, and Drummondville, Quebec.
- In June 2024, United Petfood has entered the U.S. market by purchasing a production facility in Mishawaka, Indiana, from Wellness Pet Company. This purchase is a big milestone for United Petfood as it's their first factory in the U.S.
- In April 2026, the company purchased the Jupiter production facility in Drummondville, Quebec, from Legault Group, a family business with more than 170 pet industry retail stores across Canada. The acquisition marked United Petfood's first dry manufacturing plant in Canada.

According to Petfood Industry's Top Pet Food Companies, United Petfood, is an international private label pet food manufacturer based in Ghent, Belgium. The family-owned manufacturer specializes in private label production of dry and wet pet food, biscuits and snacks.
In addition to its three North American production facilities, United Petfood operates pet food manufacturing facilities in Belgium, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Romania and Turkey. The group also runs five production facilities in France, three in Poland, three in the UK and six in the Netherlands. United Petfood sells in more than 100 countries.
