Danish pet food company Globe Buddy has launched two dog treat products — Luxx Easy and Luxx Energy — combining insect-based protein with targeted functional ingredients.
Both products are built on black soldier fly larvae protein, which Globe Buddy said is a novel protein source seeing growing adoption in the European pet food market. Globe Buddy sources its insect protein from suppliers including Protix. In addition to its sustainability profile, the company said the ingredient is used in formulations for dogs with sensitivities.

Both SKUs are grain-free semi-moist treats packaged in resealable pouches and positioned in the premium segment of European pet retail.
"The pet food category is undergoing a fundamental shift," said Bjarne Gravesen Jensen, co-founder of Globe Buddy. "Traditional protein sources will increasingly be challenged, and insect protein offers a scalable way to meet both performance and sustainability demands."
The launch expands Globe Buddy's existing portfolio of insect-based dog food and treats. The company is headquartered in Randers, Denmark.
