Mars has announced leadership changes within its $30 billion Petcare division. Nefertiti (Nef) Greene, currently president of Mars Science & Diagnostics, will transition to global president of Mars Veterinary Health in December. Katie Devine will succeed Greene as the new global president of Science & Diagnostics. Both leaders will report to Loïc Moutault, president of Mars Petcare.
Greene, who joined Mars in 2022 to lead the Science & Diagnostics division, has driven growth in the diagnostics business and brings nearly 30 years of experience from companies like Johnson & Johnson and Bayer.
Moutault praised Greene’s leadership, noting she will bring her deep expertise and passion to its veterinary health business, leading 70,000 associates worldwide in providing top-tier care to pets.
"“It’s a great honor to lead the Mars Veterinary Health business and to work with the thousands of associates globally who work tirelessly to set the standard for high-quality care, delivered through millions of pet visits each year across our 3,000 veterinary hospitals and clinics worldwide. I’m excited to join the team," said Greene.
Devine, formerly president of U.S. General Medicines at Johnson & Johnson, will succeed Greene as global president of Mars Science & Diagnostics starting October 21. Devine has over 25 years of experience in consumer health and pharmaceuticals. Moutault expressed confidence in Devine’s ability to drive continued innovation in animal diagnostics, which he described as crucial for understanding companion animal health.
“Mars is an organization I have admired throughout my career, and I am excited for the opportunity to join this incredible team and lead the Science & Diagnostics division," said Devine. "With over 60 years of world leading companion animal science, and almost 90 years of heritage in pet care, the business is working to advance the knowledge and understanding of animal health - and to bring transformative solutions that will make a genuine difference to pets around the world."
According to Petfood Industry’s top companies database, Mars Petcare’s annual revenue in 2023 reached US$20 billion. Mars Petcare is one of the top pet food companies. Its nearly 50 pet food brands include several billion-dollar brands.
