Mars has been named the UK’s Most Family-Friendly Company in the 2025 Flexa100 list and ranked second most pet-friendly workplace in the country. The recognition highlights Mars UK’s approach to flexible working and pet-inclusive policies, supporting both parents and pet owners among its workforce.

The Flexa100 ranking evaluates companies based on flexible work arrangements, benefits, leadership, and work-life balance. Mars' high placement is based on an anonymous survey of its UK employees, measuring their experience with the company’s flexibility initiatives.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognized as the UK’s Most Family-Friendly Company and the second most Pet-Friendly Company,” said Adam Grant, general manager, Mars Wrigley UKI. “At Mars, we know that supporting our Associates—whether that means giving parents more time with their families or ensuring pet-parents get the flexibility they need—ultimately creates a happier, more engaged, and more productive team.”

Mars, known for brands such as Pedigree and Whiskas, has implemented policies such as hybrid work options, parental leave benefits, and ‘paw-ternity’ leave for new pet owners. With more than 10,000 employees across 10 UK sites, the company also ranked highly in categories like flexibility, work-life balance and career progression.

According to Petfood Industry's Top Pet Food Companies, Mars Petcare is one of the top two pet food companies with its nearly 50 pet food brands including five, billion-dollar brands. The company is increasingly looking to diversify its revenue streams. Mars Petcare also owns the BluePearl chain of emergency and specialty veterinary care clinics Banfield and VCA animal hospitals.
