Corbion reported first-half 2025 results showing significant growth in its ingredients business, with the company citing pet nutrition as a key driver for its algae-derived omega-3 DHA products alongside aquaculture and human nutrition markets.

The Amsterdam-listed ingredients company posted sales of €645.6 million (US$706 million) for the six months ending June 30, 2025, with organic sales growth of 2.9%. The company's Health & Nutrition segment, which includes pet nutrition ingredients, recorded volume and mix growth of 5.0% for the half-year period.

Corbion's adjusted EBITDA increased 29.3% organically to €106.6 million (US$117 million), with margins improving 300 basis points to 16.5%. The Health & Nutrition segment maintained EBITDA margins of approximately 30%.

The company reported positive free cash flow of €12.1 million (US$13.2 million), marking the eighth consecutive quarter of positive free cash generation.

"We have once again demonstrated the resilience of our businesses with a strong performance in the first half of 2025," said Olivier Rigaud, CEO. "I am pleased to report continued growth in volume/mix of +3.3% and Adjusted EBITDA margin of +300 bps, along with sustained positive free cash flow for the eighth consecutive quarter."

Corbion noted that cost-saving programs and declining input costs contributed to increased margins across both business segments. The company's Functional Ingredients & Solutions segment also showed positive momentum with volume and mix growth in its food business.

For the Health & Nutrition segment, which serves pet food manufacturers among other industries, Corbion expects double-digit volume and mix growth for full-year 2025, despite anticipating third-quarter volumes below the high comparable level from Q3 2024.

"The main factors contributing to EBITDA growth for algae-derived omega-3 DHA products will be sales to aquaculture and pet nutrition, growth in human nutrition, and Corbion's competitive cost position," Rigaud stated.

The company maintained its full-year 2025 outlook for sales, adjusted EBITDA, and free cash flow. Corbion supplies sustainable ingredients including preservation solutions, omega-3 fatty acids, and other functional ingredients to food and nutrition manufacturers globally.
