Field & Stream Pet Food Co. announced the launch of Pack Provisions, a dog food line designed for active and outdoor dogs, available at Tractor Supply beginning November 3.
The company developed the product line in partnership with Field & Stream, drawing on the outdoor lifestyle brand's 150-year heritage. Field & Stream Pet Food Co. assembled a team with pet food industry experience to create the nutrition-focused brand.
Pack Provisions features food, treats and supplements formulated to support energy, endurance and overall health for active, working and sporting dogs. The company positions the line as "guide-rated nutrition" intended for professional guides and outdoor enthusiasts.
"We developed Pack Provisions with ingredients that really put the dog first," said William Broun, president and CEO of Field & Stream Pet Food Co. "The foods provide real nutrition based on scientific formulation, not just the latest pet food trends. It's fuel for dogs when they're out with their people, whether that's hiking in the woods, walking in the park, or heading out on the next adventure."
The core dry kibble line includes three recipes: Beef Meal & Barley, Chicken Meal & Vegetable, and Salmon Meal, Rice & Trout. Each formula contains complex carbohydrates, proteins and amino acids. The company's "Backwoods Bites" formula includes organ meat.
The dry diets contain prebiotics and postbiotics for gut health and immunity, plus vitamins and minerals for cognitive function and skin and coat health. The wet food line offers Beef and Beef Liver Dinner and Chicken and Rice Dinner.
"Active dogs need nutrition that supports energy levels and promotes healthy recovery," said Kathy L. Gross, PhD, PAS, DACAN, a pet nutritionist and adjunct professor at Kansas State University. "With carefully selected ingredients that fuel performance, like nutrient-dense organ meats and essential proteins, Pack Provisions has been optimized for active lifestyles."
The products are manufactured in the U.S. with globally sourced ingredients. The company organizes its product line as a "stacked nutrition system" designed to prepare, perform, renew and reward dogs through different activities.
Dry kibble recipes and treats will be available at more than 2,000 Tractor Supply locations nationwide starting in November. The company plans to release additional dry and wet recipes, supplements and treats in the following months.
