Rare Breed, a new dog treat brand launched in May 2025, has entered more than 2,530 Walmart stores across the U.S. with a simplified, three-ingredient product line. The company’s treats are made with 100% American-sourced, hardwood-smoked beef or pork, flaxseed, and vinegar.

Founded by a team of dog owners, Rare Breed says its goal is to provide straightforward, high-protein treats without artificial additives. The products are naturally high in protein and contain omega-3 fatty acids.

“Our treats deliver the quality and nutrition discerning pet parents expect,” said Frank Jackman, senior brand manager. “We've crafted each tender meat cut to be large enough to satisfy big dogs while being easy to tear for smaller pups, making them a simple, satisfying reward for every kind of dog.”

The lineup includes Tender Meat Cuts in Beef or Pork, available in 1- , 4.5-  and 12-ounce bags. The 4.5-ounce Beef Pack is currently the brand’s best-selling SKU. Rare Breed has also introduced an 8-ounce multipack containing eight individual 1-ounce pouches, which the company describes as a new format for the dog treat category aimed at on-the-go convenience.
