Corbion CEO Olivier Rigaud will not seek a third term when his current appointment expires at the company’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) on May 12, 2027, the company announced. Rigaud informed Corbion’s supervisory board of his decision.
Rigaud, who will have led the company for eight years by the end of his term, believes the end of his current term is the right time to hand over leadership, Corbion stated. He will continue to lead the company until the AGM, with a focus on improving performance, strengthening execution and advancing the company’s strategic priorities.
The supervisory board has started a succession process to identify Corbion’s next CEO. The board stated the transition timeline allows for continuity of leadership and a smooth handover.
The supervisory board also intends to nominate Alexander “Xander” Wessels for appointment as a board member at an Extraordinary General Meeting.
Wessels, a Dutch national, has experience in the life sciences, specialty chemicals and food ingredients industries. He previously served as CEO of Caldic, CEO of Archroma, and president and CEO of DSM Pharmaceutical Products. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at DSM and Campina. He currently serves as chair of the Supervisory Board of NRG PALLAS and chair of Enza Zaden, and is a member of the Archroma Board of Directors.
The supervisory board stated Wessels’ experience leading international business-to-business companies, driving transformation and operational performance, and serving on supervisory boards will be valuable as Corbion carries out its BRIGHT 2030 strategy.
