Royal Canin U.S. has launched the Ultimate Breed Showdown, a bracket-style competition aimed at educating pet owners on the benefits of breed-specific nutrition. The interactive contest invites participants to vote in four rounds to determine the most beloved dog breed while receiving educational content on tailored diets for different breeds.

"People love bracket season because it’s for everyone, from die-hard fans to casual viewers jumping in on the fun, so we wanted to take our pet nutrition to the championship level with our new Ultimate Breed Showdown superbracket,” said Racquel White, vice president of corporate affairs at Royal Canin North America. “At Royal Canin, we put an emphasis on our breed-specific approach to nutrition, and we’re helping consumers learn more about the benefits for their pet while letting them vote for their favorite dog breed for a chance to win exciting prizes.”

Five participants who vote for the winning breed will receive a year’s supply of Royal Canin dog food. One grand prize winner will also receive a $5,000 donation in their pet’s name to Greater Good Charities, a nonprofit supporting animals, people, and environmental initiatives.

Royal Canin said it has long emphasized breed-specific nutrition, formulating diets based on research from veterinarians, nutritionists and scientists worldwide. The company’s tailored approach considers factors such as kibble shape, texture, digestibility and palatability to meet the unique needs of different breeds.
