Purina PetCare revenue at US$8.2 billion, first-half 2021

Purina PetCare sales grew by double digit led by science based and premium brands Purina Pro Plan, Purina ONE and Felix, as well as veterinary products.

Amid the ongoing pandemic, Nestlé Purina Petcare continued to see growth. On July 29, the company reported their revenues from January to June 2021. Purina PetCare pet food sales grew by double‑digit led by science‑based and premium brands Purina Pro Plan, Purina ONE and Felix, as well as veterinary products.

Nestlé’s e‑commerce sales grew 19.2%, reaching 14.6% of total sales in the first half of 2021.  Purina PetCare showed particularly strong growth in e-commerce. Nestlé’s out‑of‑home retail sales grew 21.3%, as pandemic-related movement restrictions relaxed in some areas.

Purina PetCare regional growth

In the western hemisphere, Nestlé saw broad‑based market share gains, especially in pet food and other categories. The largest growth contributor was Purina PetCare, with sustained momentum in e‑commerce. Its science‑based and premium brands Purina Pro Plan, Purina ONE and Fancy Feast all grew at a double‑digit rate.

Nestlé in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa reported high single‑digit organic growth with momentum in e‑commerce. Each region posted positive growth, with strong sales developments in Russia, Turkey, the United Kingdom and Italy. Nestlé in Europe, the Middle East and North increased broad‑based market share, particularly for pet food and other products.

Nestlé’s sales and market presence in some regions of Asia, Oceania and sub-Saharan Africa also increased. China recorded double‑digit growth, helped by a recovery in out‑of‑home channels and the timing of Chinese New Year. Purina PetCare grew at strong double‑digit rates. Japan posted high single‑digit growth led by Purina PetCare and coffee. Oceania reported slightly positive growth with strong demand for Purina PetCare.
