The managing director of Vet Recommended, a local distributor of Hill's petfood in Thailand, sees potential for the premium petfood market in his country, according to an article from The Nation.
The director, Tienchai Paitoonvongvira , said sales have gone up 20 times in terms of value and increased 15 times in volume.
"We have been distributing Hill's products in Thailand since 1992. We began with 10 million baht sales (US$285,500) in the first year of operation. However, last year we achieved total sales of 238 million baht (US$6.8 million), up 18% over 2007," said Tienchai.
