GMP+ to consider offering sustainability certification with current FSA scheme

GMP+ International will offer certification relating to sustainability themes in combination with the GMP+ Feed Safety Assurance (FSA) scheme beginning in 2011. GMP+ says it will review how a collaboration effort between manufacturers interested in sustainable production and the GMP+ scheme could be structured, detailing the plan in the near future.

The company will determine how standards for sustainable production in the animal feed chain can be included in or linked to the current GMP+ FSA scheme. The GMP+ FSA scheme currently contains conditions for feed safety management, risk analysis, application of good production practices, early warnings and tracing.
