Annamaet Petfoods is once again supporting the Frank Attla Youth & Sled Dog Care-Mushing Program, which provides support and opportunities for more than 30 youths who learn to feed and care for the sled dogs. Overall, the program strives to fight against issues that put Alaska's youths at risk, including teen suicide and depression, alcohol and drug abuse, academic challenges, social and generational gaps, obesity, and bullying.
Annamaet is providing seven tons of its protein-rich dog food formula, Annamaet Ultra, to feed the dogs in the program during the 2014 racing season. The shipment of food is expected to sustain the dogs until June, when a planned summer camp will add fishing and preserving fish to the list of youth activities.
