United Petfood and Lider Petfood have acquired a dry production facility in Kırklareli, Türkiye, from the Maya Family Pet Foods, the companies announced.

The facility spans more than 30,000 square meters and is located near Istanbul, positioning both companies to serve markets in Eastern Europe as well as domestic Turkish demand.

The acquisition is part of Lider Petfood's 2026 expansion plans. United Petfood said the site's equipment and processing technology are compatible with its existing operations.

Lider Petfood, founded in 2009, operates dry petfood facilities in Manisa and Salihli and a wet petfood facility that launched in July 2025. The company holds an estimated 40% share of Turkey's domestic dry pet food market and exports to more than 80 countries. Its portfolio includes 13 brands — among them Reflex and Spectrum — and more than 600 products. The company also operates a 50,000-ton-per-year cat litter business and employs more than 600 people.

United Petfood, a Belgian family-owned company, acquired a stake in Lider Petfood in February 2023. United Petfood produces dry and wet pet food, biscuits and snacks for cats and dogs for private label customers and brand owners. The company operates production facilities in Belgium, Denmark, France, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom, and is active in more than 100 countries. Its annual turnover exceeds €1.6 billion (US$1.84 billion).
