The Pet Food Institute (PFI) has been awarded $725,000 through the America First Trade Promotion Program (AFTPP), a U.S. Department of Agriculture initiative aimed at expanding export opportunities for American agricultural products.
The AFTPP was introduced as part of a three-point trade plan by USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins and USDA Under Secretary Luke Lindberg. The program is designed to help U.S. exporters capitalize on emerging market opportunities and complements existing USDA export promotion efforts, including the Market Access Program (MAP) and the Regional Agricultural Promotion Program (RAPP), both of which PFI participates in as an active cooperator.
PFI will use the funding to advance market development activities that promote U.S. pet food exports and expand access to global markets.
"PFI is proud to continue to expand its global engagement and build new opportunities for U.S. pet food through this AFTPP funding," said Nat Davies, vice president of business operations and programs at PFI. "This investment will allow us to showcase the innovation and quality of U.S. pet food in key markets and continue driving growth that benefits pets, pet owners, and the entire U.S. agricultural supply chain."
