Feeding modern US sorghum to modern poultry worldwide

The fact that birds love sorghum is indisputable. The story being taught at universities worldwide is that wild sorghum developed tannins as a deterrent to birds. This was not so effective, however, because birds not able to find anything else more nutritious will consume tannin-rich sorghum, albeit at reduced quantities. The same is true for domesticated poultry, be it broilers, layers, or turkeys. But that is part of the past.
