American Egg Board holds spring meeting.

New American Egg Board (AEB) members and alternates were sworn in by the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service at the AEB’s spring 2023 board meeting. The AEB is composed of 36 egg farmers—18 members and 18 alternates. The AEB also elected its new executive committee, presented by a nominating committee and unanimously approved by the board.

Earlier this year, the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture reappointed the following members and alternates for another two-year term:

  • Jeff Cutler, Fort Recovery, Ohio
  • Sean Delano, Whitewater, Wis.
  • Bruce Dooyema, Sioux Center, Iowa
  • Ted Greidanus, Neosho, Mo.
  • Thomas Hertzfeld III, Grand Rapids, Ohio
  • Khalee Kreider, Manheim, Pa.
  • Tracy Ramsdell, Flandreau, S.D.
  • Gijs Schimmel, Lexington, Ga.
  • Mindy Truex, Atwood, Ind.
  • Lake Wagner, Abingdon, Va

Nine newly appointed egg producers include:

  • Jessica Hanslik, Ridgeland, Miss.
  • Clint Hickman, Buckeye, Ariz.
  • Mitch Knapke, New Weston, Ohio
  • Pat Melena, Wakefield, NE
  • John Puglisi, Howell, N.J.
  • Mark Sauder, Lititz, Pa.
  • John Watson III, Nashville, N.C.
  • Alex Weaver, Versailles, Ohio
  • Tim Zweering, Holland, Mich.

The following officers were named to the AEB’s Executive Committee:
