Hill’s Pet Nutrition has added ActivBiome+ Multi-Benefit technology to its Hill’s Science Diet dry adult and senior dog and cat food lines. The formulation includes a proprietary blend of prebiotic fibers and clinically proven antioxidants designed to support digestion, immune system function and organ health.
"At Hill's, we believe the future of pet health lies in harnessing the power of the gut microbiome," said Dr. Chelsie Estey, U.S. chief veterinary officer at Hill's. "We have worked for more than a decade to deepen our understanding of the microbiome, using research findings to guide the formulation of new nutritional interventions that promote a healthy gut. That is why we are proud to introduce ActivBiome+ Multi-Benefit to our Hill's Science Diet dry adult lifestage formulas, bringing the latest, cutting-edge science to our pet foods."
The company cites a 2022 Hill’s-conducted consumer study in which pet owners ranked organ health, immune system support, high-quality protein, and digestion among their top concerns when selecting food. Hill’s reports that ActivBiome+ Multi-Benefit was developed to align with those consumer priorities:
- Organ Health: Supported through the product’s antioxidant and prebiotic fiber content
- Immune System Support: Clinically proven antioxidant blend to maintain immune function
- Digestive Health: Promotes stool quality, nutrient absorption, and digestive comfort
"Pet parents may feel they're falling short in returning the love their pets show them," said Carrick Massey, U.S. senior vice president of marketing at Hill's. "Hill's is here to help them love their pets in the healthiest way possible. That's because with Hill's, they are feeding their pet a product tailored to their lifestage that is backed by science and packed with nutrition, providing a solid foundation to support lifelong health."
The ActivBiome+ Multi-Benefit technology will be included in select adult and senior formulas in the Hill’s Science Diet dry pet food portfolio.
