Fresh dog food brand Ollie has launched a new sustainability initiative in partnership with rePurpose Global to remove 37,500 pounds of plastic waste from the environment during Earth Month. The cleanup effort focuses on Paraíso de Ballenas, Colombia, a coastal region facing significant pollution and environmental degradation.

The initiative supports local waste workers and aims to restore a vulnerable marine ecosystem, aligning with Ollie’s broader goal of reducing the environmental impact of its operations.

“Plastic has its benefits, especially for Ollie’s fresh meals that ship frozen to ensure quality and safety," said Mia Davis, chief impact officer at Ollie. "But we are aware of the huge environmental impact of plastic — the collective climate burden and the higher pollution hazards for certain wildlife and communities. That’s why in addition to working to reduce our plastic footprint, we’re proud to be partnering with rePurpose Global to clean up this critically important habitat.”

The initiative is part of Ollie’s year-round sustainability strategy and reflects the brand’s recognition that ocean pollution is a global problem. Although Ollie operates in the U.S., the company chose to focus on Paraíso de Ballenas due to the high environmental need and potential for long-term impact.

Through its partnership with rePurpose Global, Ollie funds plastic waste recovery efforts that not only benefit the environment but also contribute to the livelihoods of local waste workers in the Colombian community.

The company said every Ollie purchase contributes to the project, reinforcing its commitment to building a more sustainable pet food supply chain.

Ollie is a pet food company that delivers freshly cooked, human-grade dog food directly to customers' doorsteps. They offer a variety of recipes, including options for small, medium, and large dogs, and allow for customized feeding plans. The company's primary headquarters are in New York, New York, U.S., with a secondary location in Reno, Nevada, U.S.
