Ollie has completed a migration of its e-commerce operations to Shopify's commerce platform. The company said the platform change will reduce operational complexity while supporting growth in the personalized pet nutrition sector.

The migration addresses technical challenges the company faced with managing thousands of SKU variations. The new system consolidates these into a more manageable framework that the company said will enable faster recipe development and more flexible subscription management.

"At Ollie, we're leading a revolution in pet health using better ingredients, technology, and data to help every dog thrive and live its happiest life," said Nick Stafford, CEO, Ollie. "This move to Shopify materially upgrades our e-commerce experience, both on web and in the app, helping us achieve our goal to become one of the most beloved dog food brands from both a product and user experience perspective."

The platform is designed to support hundreds of thousands of unique meal plan combinations based on factors including breed, age, weight, allergies and preferences. Ollie operates on a subscription model where customers receive regular shipments of fresh dog food tailored to their pet's specifications.

Sandy Jeong, Field CTO at Shopify, said the partnership reflects how brands are using technology for personalized customer experiences. "By building on Shopify, Ollie can focus on what they do best — helping pet parents like myself ensure optimal health and nutrition for our pets — without worrying about the technical complexity behind the scenes."

The technical improvements include integration capabilities with customer service, analytics and fulfillment systems. The platform also provides promotional and segmentation tools that allow for targeted offers based on customer lifecycle stage and product preferences.

According to Petfood Industry's Top Pet Food Companies, Ollie, founded in 2016 and based in New York City, manufactures fresh, human-grade dog food through a direct-to-consumer model. The company also maintains a retail presence and has indicated plans to expand this channel while using the new platform capabilities to support future recipe launches.
