The Institute for Feed Education and Research and American Feed Industry Association announced Monday the addition of two new staff members to support both organizations.

Yuan-Tai Hung, Ph.D., joins IFEEDER as senior manager of research, while Marisa Halbstein takes on the role of marketing and program development specialist for AFIA.

In his newly created position, Hung will lead science-based research efforts and collaborate with industry stakeholders. His experience includes roles with Leader Nutrition in Taiwan, the University of Minnesota and Devenish Nutrition North America. Hung holds a doctorate in swine nutrition from the University of Minnesota.

"With his experience in swine, poultry and pet nutrition, Yuan-Tai brings a wealth of knowledge to this role," said Lara Moody, IFEEDER executive director.

Halbstein, who replaces Taylor Lekin, will lead marketing for AFIA's educational events and support IFEEDER's industry investment communications. She previously interned with both AFIA and Animal Agriculture Alliance before serving as a graduate assistant at the University of Florida, where she earned degrees in agricultural education and communication.

"We are excited to welcome Marisa back to the AFIA, this time as a full-time member of our fast-paced communications team," said Cornelia Poku, AFIA's director of communications.
