BioVivo Science has opened its botanical extraction and toll processing facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana, launching what it said is the largest facility of its kind in the U.S. The facility aims to strengthen domestic supply chains and reduce reliance on overseas processing for American-grown botanical crops.
The company said U.S. dietary supplement and functional ingredient markets have historically lacked large-scale domestic botanical extraction capabilities, forcing brands to ship American-grown crops overseas for extraction and processing before re-importing them as finished ingredients. This new facilityis designed to address this supply chain gap with domestic processing capabilities.
"BioVivo Science is committed to reshaping how natural ingredients are sourced and processed in the United States," said Chris Smith, director of strategic operations and supply chain at BioVivo Science. "Our Jeffersonville hub provides brands with a fully traceable supply chain and trusted, cGMP-certified partner for high-quality extraction and processing."
The facility features cGMP-certified extraction and processing capabilities for botanicals, formulation support for brand partners, and service across food and beverage, nutraceuticals, personal care and pet nutrition industries. Current certifications include Sedex and Kosher, with FSSC22000, ISO 9001, Halal and NASC Preferred Supplier certifications in progress.
The facility can produce 2,000-plus metric tons of annual powdered extract outputs through integrated processes including extraction, concentration and purification, crystallization, spray drying, pulverization, granulation, and pre-mix and blending. Peak processing capacity exceeds 6,000 metric tons per year, with tolling services available.
Located in central Indiana, the facility is designed to provide access to major food, beverage, supplement and pet nutrition industry hubs for domestic and global brands.
BioVivo Science will host a grand opening event from September 22-26, 2025, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, for industry leaders and brand partners. Guests can tour the facility and meet company executives. Registration information is available here.
