Lindsay Beaton, who covered the pet food industry for 15 years, has founded Beaton Path Communications LLC, a consultancy focused on brand identity development and marketing strategy.
“I’ve spent so many years covering and speaking to all corners of the pet industry,” Beaton said. “I’ve learned the ins and outs of everything from how to make kibble to what a successful product launch looks like, and one thing has always been very clear to me: It’s increasingly difficult to stand out in a market that already has so many options. Whether we’re talking about pet food brands or suppliers trying to break into the space, it’s hard to make your voice heard.
“I want this industry to continue to grow; one of my favorite parts of my job over the years has been speaking with companies who are newer and trying to carve their own path,” she said. “Making my years of experience and expertise available to those in the industry who could use someone like me seemed like the way to go.”
Beaton Path Communications services
The consultancy provides brand identity and marketing strategy development, market and consumer analysis, project-specific assistance and execution support for companies that have plans in place but lack the staff to launch them.
“There are so many small- and medium-sized companies in the pet industry,” Beaton said. “Their teams are wearing multiple hats and their margins are tight; marketing budgets are notoriously difficult to fund properly and sometimes they want or need to do more than their current manpower allows for. Rather than struggle until they can hire a full marketing or advertising or communications team, Beaton Path Communications can step in at any point in their process and lend an expert hand.”
