Purina PetCare continued to lead growth for parent company Nestle in key pet food markets during the first half of 2024. Globally, Purina delivered mid-single-digit growth for Nestle, driven by science‑based premium brands, Purina Pro Plan, Fancy Feast and Purina ONE. Nestle reported their financial performance for January through June 2023 in a letter to shareholders. During that period, Purina’s sales reached CHF 9,452 million (US$10,692 million), compared to CHF 9,373 million (US$10,603 million) from January to June 2023.
Purina PetCare performance by region
In North America, Purina PetCare was the largest growth contributor for Nestle, with mid-single-digit growth. Purina Pro Plan, Fancy Feast and Dog Chow led this growth. The business expanded its range of functional pet consumables with launches, including Pro Plan Vital Systems for cats and Pro Plan Veterinary Diets Elemental for dogs.
In Europe, Purina was also a key contributor to Nestle’s growth. The key contributor to growth by product category was Purina PetCare. It delivered mid-single-digit growth, driven by differentiated offerings across premium brands Gourmet, Purina ONE and Felix.
Purina PetCare’s growth was nearly flat in Latin America, supported by Felix and Friskies.
Considering China, Purina PetCare had double‑digit growth, building on new product launches and e‑commerce momentum for Purina Pro Plan.
