Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food makes donation

Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food makes donation to the Humane Society of Kansas City.

In an effort to help relieve some of the impact from COVID-19, Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food, a family-owned supplier of super premium pet food, has donated 5,737 pounds of dog and cat food to The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City.

The donation is part of Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food’s Fill A Bowl... Feed A SoulTM (“FABFAS”) program, a national campaign targeting the donation of one million meals to shelter pets annually.

“These 8 pallets containing 5,737 pounds of dog and cat food will help those in our community struggling to provide food for their pets this winter,” said Jess Reynolds, Development Manager for The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City. “We will deliver this food through our Community Pet Food Pantry located at our shelter and through our Ray of Hope Outreach team. This food will make a HUGE difference in the lives of the people and pets of the Greater Kansas City Community. We know times are tough, and we are here to help. But we cannot do what we do without the generosity of others. We thank Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food for this incredible donation.”

“The donations come during this time when communities across the nation are being hit hard by the effects of COVID-19,”

The FABAS program has donated over 3 million meals to pets in need to date.

Said Chris Mitchell, CEO of Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food. “Animal rescue organizations are a continued source of inspiration to us at Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food as they continue their dedication to the care and safe treatment of all animals during these turbulent times. We are proud to be able to lift

some of the financial burden for these rescues as well as members of the communities they serve by providing this nutritional support.”
