A tornado that touched down June 17 sent 50 employees at a petfood manufacturing plant to the building's storm shelter.
The Iams plant, located in Aurora, Nebraska, USA, took a direct hit.
"If it would have come a few hundred feet to the north and hit our production area it would have been significantly worse," said plant manager Kathy Brown.
Two warehouses sustained the heaviest damage, where a portion of the south wall and roof were torn off, reported the Aurora News-Register .
There was little or no finished petfood lost as a result of the storm, according to Brown.
A corporate engineer is scheduled to arrive June 24 to assess the extent of the damage.
