Placek Group, an Eastern European wholesale and retail pet supply company, has acquired the undefined minority stake in MiMaJa d.o.o., a pet food retailer in Slovenia.
Placek has integrated MiMaJa d.o.o.’s retail chain Mr. Pet into its portfolio. The management and majority ownership of MiMaJa d.o.o. will remain the same after the deal is closed.
"By acquiring this stake in Mr. Pet, we have gained access to a new appealing market,” said Vladimir Miksa, a Placek Group manager. “Our partnership with MiMaJa d.o.o. has laid robust foundations for further business developments in Slovenia. We have chosen Mr. Pet for its undeniable success and its undisputable quality. Both sides will benefit from synergies stemming from this partnership.”
“Our company, MiMaJa d.o.o., will soon introduce the line of private label products, developed exclusively by Placek Group,” said Aleš Jamšek, an owner of MiMaJa d.o.o. “This is the area where we see one of the biggest prospects for the future growth. Thanks to this cooperation, our chain Mr. Pet will become the most competitive player in Slovenia.”
