Petland Charities hosted a holiday charity event on December 9, 2017 in support of the local sheriff department’s therapy dog program. The event was held at Petland Grove in Grove City, Ohio, where Petland Charities presented a US$5,000 check to Deputy Metz for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Therapy Dog Program.
The funds were raised via Petland Grove City and Petland Hilliard customer donations. Petland Charities then matched these donations.
The event included food, games, face painting and photos with Deputy Metz and Mattis, the therapy dog for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. Raffle prizes included dog biscuits, tennis balls, water bottles, Petland gift cards and free tail trimming coupons.
Earlier in 2017, pet food retailer Petland, Inc. started a charitable giving organization, Petland Charities, at their flagship store in Chillicothe, Ohio, USA. The organization was created to focus on raising funds for the Ross County Humane Society and the local K9 unit.
Petland invited Chillicothe customers to make donations throughout the year and then donated these funds to the Ross County Humane Society or the regional K9 unit. Petland Charities will match customer donations up to US$3,000 per year.
Pet owners want a lot from their pet food brands. They want primary proteins that suit what they believe is best for their animal. They want grains or they don't. They want something customized, but it has to be easy to understand.
Constraints and crises, like those experienced in 2020, help drive innovation and sustainability offers context.
