Audubon, Iowa-based AMVC’s new 400,000-ton/year swine feed mill in Hamlin, Iowa, signifies more than a logistical solution — it’s a commitment to local sustainability, precision feed services and fortification against industry challenges. A partnership with Landus Cooperative brought a circular economy to Audubon County by siting the mill adjacent to Landus’ existing 4-million-bushel grain receiving facility that allows AMVC to utilize grain from the co-op’s farmer-owners to manufacture feed for their nearby swine operations.
This closed loop system cuts transportation costs for both parties, plus reduces feed costs for AMVC, while enabling an unprecedented level of quality control with direct oversight of incoming grain from Landus’ grain receiving facility next door.
