Canidae All Natural Pet Foods will award four individual $2,500 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Scholarships in 2009. The scholarships were established in 2008.
The program is open to full-time first- and second-year graduate students currently enrolled in a doctorate of veterinary medicine program at an approved college in the US or Canada, according to a press release.
This year, essays, academic achievement and a history of dedication to the well being of animals comprise the application criteria. Students will be asked to write about issues including training and exercise, proper veterinarian care and healthy nutrition.
The scholarship selection committee is chosen by International Scholarship and Tuition Services Inc. of Nashville, Tennesse, USA.

The application period is open through April 15, 2009. Winners of the scholarships will be announced on Canidae's site approximately 60 days after the close of the application period. Applicants will be notified near June 16, 2009, according to the release.
