Zoomark International 2011 will focus on purchasing trends and the latest innovations in petfood and pet care products from May 12-15 in Italy.
Zoomark released a report in conjunction with the show's opening, which found that the Italian market for petfood grew by 2.2% in 2010, reaching 1.53 billion Euro (US$2.14 billion). Zoomark's report also found that 41% of families owns a pet currently.
Zoomark 2011 will focus on the consumers' demands for information, customization and eco-sustainability in the growing market for petfood and pet care products. According to show organizers, the petfood industry has expanded with three emerging trends: nature, science and taste. Besides maintenance petfood developed according to age, breed and lifestyle, the newest products that will be introduced by the most innovative companies include diet products dedicated to specific ailments; organic food and herbal mix; delicacies; and functional, holistic and nutraceutical food.
Innovation will also be present in petfood packaging at Zoomark, which must be clear and readable. Consumers are extremely attentive to labels and to packages suited for modern lifestyle, such as single-serve or multi-packs that provide variety and convenience.
The theme of eco-sustainability will be seen not only in petfood and its packaging, but also in pet furnishings and accessories. Consumers have recently demanded trendy designs, ecological materials and technology in the products they purchase for their pets.
