White House introduces plan to reduce food loss, waste

The strategy said preventing the loss and waste of food and upcycling food will reduce the environmental impact of feeding a growing population and improving the efficiency of the food system will reduce its environmental footprint.

The White House has introduced a plan to meet its goal of reducing food loss and waste in the U.S. by 50% by 2030.

The National Strategy for Reducing Food Loss and Waste and Recycling Organics outlines four objectives: prevent food loss, prevent food waste, increase the recycling rate for all organic waste, and support policies that incentivize and encourage food loss and waste prevention and organics recycling.
