The Association of Veterinary Technician Educators (AVTE) announced a partnership with Chewy Health to develop an online community platform for veterinary technician educators during the AVTE 2025 Annual Conference.

The digital platform will allow educators to share resources, discuss professional challenges, and connect with peers across institutions and geographic regions. Chewy Health is providing initial funding for the platform's development and will contribute content and teaching resources to the community.

The collaboration supports AVTE's One Community initiative, which aims to connect veterinary technician educators through shared professional goals and resources.

"We are incredibly grateful to Chewy Health for not only supporting this new community platform but for believing that high-quality education of the next generation of veterinary technicians is vital," said AVTE president Tricia Gorham, FVTE. "Their partnership helps us move from idea to action, and we're excited to take this first step forward — side by side."

The platform will function as a member-driven space combining discussion forums, resource sharing, and peer mentorship capabilities. Educators will be able to post questions, share classroom materials, and access professional development resources through the centralized system.

"At Chewy Health, we believe that expanding access to educational and professional resources is essential to advancing the veterinary profession," said Mita Malhotra, President of Chewy Health. "This collaboration with AVTE is an extension of our commitment to supporting veterinary professionals at every stage of their journey. With this innovative community platform, we hope to create a space where veterinary technician educators feel empowered, connected and inspired."

Chewy Health will serve as the founding partner for the initiative, with the companies seeking additional industry participation to expand the platform's resources and reach.

The online community is scheduled to launch in late 2025. AVTE represents veterinary technician educators across academic institutions and professional training programs.
