Purina Institute brings nutrition science to WSAVA Congress 2026

The company will sponsor an educational stream and the launch of a global veterinary practice report at the event in Warsaw, Poland.

Purina Institute will participate in the 51st World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) Congress, scheduled for Oct. 13-15 in Warsaw, Poland. As a Diamond Partner of WSAVA, Purina Institute will sponsor the congress's "Food for Thought" educational stream featuring eight speakers, and it is the sole sponsor of the WSAVA Global State of Companion Animal Veterinary Practice Report 2026, which will launch during the event.

WSAVA 2026 is being held in partnership with the Polish Small Animal Veterinary Association (PSAVA) and the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA). The "Food for Thought" stream will focus on the role of nutrition in veterinary care, with presentations on topics including canine atopic dermatitis, antimicrobial stewardship and feline kidney disease.

"The WSAVA World Congress offers an important opportunity to listen, learn and share science that can make a difference in everyday veterinary practice," said Dr. Marianne Lomberg, head of Purina Institute. "Through our ongoing partnership with WSAVA, we are helping make nutrition knowledge more accessible and actionable so veterinary teams can support healthier, longer lives for pets."

Purina Institute also supports several WSAVA committees and initiatives, including work with the Nutrition, Education, Animal Welfare and Wellness committees, as well as work related to the One Health and Therapeutics committees. The organization also supports regional continuing education events, an annual webinar series and the WSAVA Nutrition Guidelines Course.

Purina Institute said its partnership with WSAVA is intended to translate evidence-based nutrition science into practical guidance for veterinary teams.
