Petfood Forum participants can interact with these organizations throughout the show on April 28-30 in the Pet Charity Dog House located in Aisle 1000.
Dog House Hours:
Tuesday, April 29 | 9 am to 6 pm.

PawsAbilities and the young adults who work for them will be set up alongside the Pet Charity Dog House. Attendees can support their mission by purchasing their hand-crafted dog cookies while learning how they provide important skills training for people with disabilities in Kansas City.
PawsAbilities provides skills training and job placement for people with disabilities in Kansas City. The young adults involved in the PawsAbilities program handcraft all-natural dog treats, sew bandanas and upcycle t-shirts into pull toys. Students also work in retail and mobile stores learning customer service skills for future jobs.
The Polk County Humane Society will be joined by students in the companion animal science program at Missouri State University. Missouri State students in companion animal courses are working with six puppies from the shelter before Petfood Forum to make them more adoptable. The students and the puppies will be on-site in the Dog House, a designated area in the exhibit hall where attendees can play with the puppies, learn about their mission and discover how they can get involved.
Polk County Humane Society is a nonprofit, animal shelter located in Bolivar, Missouri. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, they rely solely on donations for funding and supplies. It is through this support that Polk County Humane Society was able to adopt over 970 animals last year.

Polk County Humane Society works to reduce the overpopulation, loss, abandonment and surrender of pets by promoting the spay and neuter of all pets, and educating the community on responsible and successful pet ownership.
