Petfood Forum, celebrating its 25 anniversary as the exclusive conference for the global pet food manufacturing industry, has confirmed the opening and closing keynote speakers for the 2017 edition, April 3-5 in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.
Randi Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Zuckerberg Media, will kick off Petfood Forum 2017 with an opening address April 4 on how to use social media and other marketing platforms to reach today’s consumers. On April 5, Temple Grandin, PhD, a designer of livestock handling facilities and professor of animal science at Colorado State University, will discuss animal behavior and the importance of pet professionals knowing what responses to expect.
In addition, registration has opened for Petfood Forum 2017 with a new mobile-optimized website, www.petfoodforumevents.com, and early bird savings available. Aiming to provide a more user-friendly experience, the structure of the revamped Petfood Forum website allows users to easily access the latest information on all Petfood Forum workshops, conferences and exhibitions, with each event having its own dedicated section.
Prior to founding her own company, Zuckerberg worked at Facebook, where she created and ran the social media pioneer’s marketing programs from 2005-2011. She is the author of two books, including Dot Complicated, a New York Times bestseller about our (sometimes overly) wired lives. The book inspired a weekly business radio show, "Dot Complicated with Randi Zuckerberg" on SiriusXM, and Dot, a children’s picture book and an animated children’s TV show debuting on NBC Sprout.
Grandin has designed livestock facilities in the US, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and other countries. Curved chute and race systems she has designed for cattle are used worldwide, and her writings on the flight zone and other principles of grazing animal behavior have helped many people reduce stress on their animals during handling. Grandin has appeared on TV shows such as “20/20,” “48 Hours,” “CNN Larry King Live,” “PrimeTime Live” and the “Today Show,” and has been featured in numerous magazines. She has authored over 300 articles in scientific journals and livestock periodicals and is the author of Thinking in Pictures, Livestock Handling and Transport and Genetics and the Behavior of Domestic Animals. Her book Animals in Translation was a New York Times bestseller.
