Purina PetCare sales up US$129k in first 3 months 2021

Purina pet food sales had strong momentum, led by science-based and premium brands Purina Pro Plan, Purina ONE and Felix.

During the first three month of 2021, Nestlé Purina PetCare dog, cat and other pet food and treat sales saw high single-digit growth to reach US$3,954,000 (CHF3,620,000), up US$129,000 over the same period in 2020. Globally, Purina pet food sales had strong momentum, according to a company press release, led by science-based and premium brands Purina Pro Plan, Purina ONE and Felix.

In the Western Hemisphere, Purina PetCare reported high single-digit organic growth, with a high base of comparison in 2020. The region saw broad-based market share gains, led by pet food and other products.

In Purina’s North America zone, Purina PetCare delivered mid-single-digit growth, with strong momentum in e-commerce and premium brands Purina Pro Plan, Purina ONE and Fancy Feast. Merrick recorded strong growth, supported by new product launches in Healthy Grains. In Purina’s Latin America zone, Purina PetCare and coffee saw double-digit growth.

In Purina PetCare’s Europe, Middle-East and North Africa zone (EMENA), pet food and treats continued to see broad-based market share gains. Purina PetCare sales in EMENA were fueled by continued momentum in e-commerce and new product launches. Sales in Purina PetCare grew at a double-digit rate, driven by premium brands Purina Pro Plan, Purina ONE and Felix. Tails.com and Lily’s Kitchen also saw strong momentum, supported by continued distribution expansion

In Purina’s Asia, Oceania and sub-Saharan Africa (AOA) zone, pet food gained market share. Purina Petcare reported strong growth, led by premium offerings such as Purina Pro Plan and veterinary products.
