Friskies, a cat food and treat brand from Nestlé Purina, is bringing the spirit of feline curiosity to game night with the release of a limited-edition board game, Adventures in Friskies World. The new title combines strategy, imagination and cat-inspired antics into a game designed for humans, with a few extras to keep real cats occupied, too.
Created by award-winning board game designer Ellie Dix, and developed with input from Purina pet behaviorist Dr. Annie Valuska, Adventures in Friskies World draws from the natural instincts of cats — chasing, pouncing and problem-solving — to offer a new kind of entertainment for cat lovers.
“To play, participants must unleash their imagination and dive into a world of feline adventures,” said Dix. “Our goal was to balance strategy and fun to create a lighthearted game that's perfect for a friendly competition on game night – no matter your skill level.”
Players take on the roles of adventurous cats, using cards and games of chance to outwit their opponents and collect star points. Meanwhile, the game comes with a cardboard shipping box and cat toy to keep feline companions engaged while their owners play.
According to Valuska, the game is more than just fun, it’s a reminder of the importance of mental enrichment for pets.
“Cats chase, pounce and problem-solve to stay engaged,” said Valuska. “The new board game from Friskies allows humans to experience that curiosity and excitement, inspiring them to get creative and find new ways to engage and enjoy time with their cats.”
Adventures in Friskies World will be available for pre-order starting April 11, National Board Game Day, exclusively at boardgame.friskies.com, for $24.99 while supplies last.
