Canadian freeze-dried pet food manufacturer Formula Raw has opened a new 15,000-square-foot production facility in Montreal, Quebec, that is designed to increase monthly output from 7,500 kg to over 30,000 kg.

Formula Raw said the facility expansion enables it to enter the U.S. market after securing USDA export approval to complement existing certifications from CFIA and MAPAQ. The company produces all freeze-dried dog and cat food products in-house rather than using co-manufacturers.

Formula Raw will exhibit at SuperZoo Las Vegas in Booth #3803, marking its first appearance at the trade show as it seeks U.S. retail and distribution partnerships.

"We built this company out of love for our own dogs and cats," said co-founder Dimitri Manousos. "What started in a tiny facility is now a nationally recognized brand, thanks to an incredible team and a growing community of pet parents who refuse to compromise on quality."

The manufacturer sources ingredients locally when possible, including grass-fed beef, organ meats, chicken and duck from Quebec farms. Products contain no additives, fillers, preservatives or grains.

Formula Raw currently exports to Asia and is expanding into Europe and the UAE. The company operates as one of the few Canadian pet food brands to handle freeze-drying operations entirely in-house, according to the manufacturer.

Formula Raw said the new facility allows it to fulfill large-scale orders without relying on third-party manufacturers, providing supply chain control as the company pursues North American market expansion.
