Process equipment manufacturer Volkmann USA, based in Bristol, Pennsylvania, U.S., announces the expansion of the company's manufacturing center at its global headquarters in Soest, Germany. The 48,437-square-foot addition was designed to increase production capacity for the company's pneumatic vacuum conveying systems, bulk bag unloaders, vibrating feeders and related bulk material handling equipment.
Since operations began in the expanded facility, lead times for custom conveyor orders shipped to the U.S., Canada and Mexico have been reduced. A new Quick Ship program offers delivery of a VS Series vacuum conveyor in as fast as two weeks.
The expansion brings design engineering, manufacturing, assembly, quality control and shipping operations under one roof.
A new on-site testing laboratory at the Soest facility includes operating pneumatic vacuum conveying systems, bulk bag unloaders and feeders, as well as metal powder handling equipment for automating the 3D printing process at scale. A similar laboratory at the company's Bristol headquarters offers product and material testing on full-size conveying systems for customers in North America.
