Interzoo 2026 will feature exhibitors from approximately 70 countries, with nearly 88% of participants coming from outside Germany, according to organizer WZF GmbH – Pet Industry Services. The gross exhibition area has grown by roughly 10,000 square meters, or about 7%, spanning 15 halls — one more than in 2024 — for a total of approximately 150,000 square meters, which the company said is the highest figure in the event's history.

Exhibitor numbers showed triple-digit growth compared to the 2024 edition. Following Germany, the countries with the highest number of exhibitors are China, Italy, Turkey, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, the U.S., Poland and the United Kingdom. Egypt, Kazakhstan, Mexico and Saudi Arabia are participating for the first time. A total of 16 country pavilions will be on display, including first-time pavilions from Turkey, Thailand and Spain.

"The sharp rise in exhibitor numbers and the high level of international participation from around 70 countries highlights the pet sector's keen interest in Interzoo and once again demonstrates the global significance of Interzoo as a physical meeting place for the international pet industry," said Gordon Bonnet, CEO of WZF and ZZF, German Pet Trade and Industry Association, the honorary sponsor of Interzoo.

"With around 150,000 square meters of gross exhibition space — the highest figure ever recorded — Interzoo is featuring a unique variety of product and brand presentations, offering something for everyone and bringing the entire world of pets to life through all the senses."

Of the exhibitors, 1,703 companies will offer products for dogs, and 1,378 will present products for cats. A total of 235 exhibitors will provide solutions in pet food technology.

Sustainability, Petfood Forum Europe and Women in Petfood Leadership opportunities

On May 11, the day before the trade fair opens, the Interzoo Sustainability Conference and Petfood Forum Europe will take place. Elliott Harris, former deputy secretary-general of the United Nations, will deliver the keynote at the sustainability conference. The Women in Petfood Leadership Event in Europe — its first on the continent — is scheduled for May 13. Interzoo Groomers' Day follows on May 14. All four events will be conducted in English, with German translation provided at the Groomers' Day.

Additional programming includes Academy Sessions on regional markets, healthcare and social media; a Sourcing Stage in Hall 12 focused on international procurement; and a Fresh Ideas Stage where 36 startups and innovative companies will present new concepts for the industry.

"The growing demand from every continent confirms that Interzoo is an essential meeting place for industry decision-makers worldwide," said Dr. Rowena Arzt, head of exhibitions at WZF GmbH. "Trade fairs reflect market trends and serve as a marketplace for opportunities. At Interzoo, global business contacts are maintained and new supplier relationships established. The entire pet industry comes together in Nuremberg during Interzoo, acting as a catalyst for the sector.

"At the world's leading trade fair, innovations are presented, developments are discussed, and tomorrow's trends emerge," she added. "Many exhibitors focus their product development specifically on Interzoo, using our trade fair as a platform for the world premiere of their innovations."

Ticket bookings are currently 74% international, with visitors registered from all five continents. For more information, visit Interzoo 2026.
