According to a news report , Simmons Pet Food Inc. is adding a processing unit to its Decatur, Arkansas, USA, plant to better serve its private-label customer base.
The company presented its plans to build a new petfood plant in Decatur to the city's planning and zoning committee on June 25. With plans to spend US$8 million building a 3,600-square-foot facility by March 2010, Simmons expects to employ 15 to 20 people by the end of the year. It eventually plans to employ 80 people, who will earn a starting salary of over US$25,000 a year.
