Elite Expeditions, a Polish game meat producer, is broadening its product portfolio by expanding into the pet food industry and launching a new line of products, according to company representatives.
Tomasz Dolat, a sales manager at Elite Expeditions, told Petfoodinudtstry.com that the company is focused on offering high-quality products made with Polish game meat under the Deer Dog! brand. The new products include dry and wet dog food, snacks and treats. This month, Elite Expeditions also added deer antler and duck meat chews to its range, he said.
“Our products are currently available for purchase at brick-and-mortar stores and our online shop,” Dolat said. “We have been active in the Polish market since 1989, and today we are one of Poland’s largest game meat exporters. We mostly sell our meat to customers in Western Europe.”
Focusing on high-value dog food products
Dolat said that currently, Elite Expeditions is focused on securing a major position in the domestic game meat-based pet food segment but is looking ahead to foreign markets; initiating export sales of these products “is the next step in our long-term development plan,” he explained.
“Game meat is healthy, natural and rich in high-value ingredients,” he added. “It’s a high-quality product, which is also reflected in its price, so we’re interested in selling our products to consumers in countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and many others where customers are ready to spend more on high-quality food.”
Dog foods join established game meat brands
The Polish business makes its pet food products with the use of deer, wild boar, pheasant and duck meat, among others, according to data from the company.
Elite Expeditions is a family business set up by Polish entrepreneur Stanisław Malec, and his son, Grzegorz Malec, is the company’s current chief executive. Elite Expeditions operates a production facility in Zwierzyniec, in Poland’s southeastern part, and offers its products under three brands: Elite game meat; Dziki trop game meat jars; available at major retail chains; and its Deer Dog! pet food products.
