Waltham has partnered with the University of California, at Davis, to establish the Waltham UC Veterinary Medical Center, San Diego, Clinical Nutrition Program, to provide nutrition treatment for ill or obese pets. The program complements the Nutritional Support Service at the veterinary teaching hospital. According to Veterinary Practice News , both locations incorporate research, veterinary instruction, student clinical training and resident specialty training into client services. The veterinary nutritionists at the new center offer recommendations for commercial or formulated home-prepared diets, weight loss regimens and consulting on feeding strategies for critically ill animals, in addition to other services.
