Pet Fair Asia attracted 15,173 trade visitors to the Chinese pet trade show, held in Shanghai at the end of August.
Attendance to the pet industry show increased by 9.2 percent over the previous year, and with the exception of East China, the number of Chinese visitors increased by nearly 12.3 percent.
The show's organizer says consumers visiting the show rose from 36,000 in 2012 to 40,000 in 2013. Nearly 602 international and domestic companies exhibited at the fair, covering an exhibition area of 37,000 square meters. Pet Fair Asia was held alongside Petfood Forum China, which took place August 23.
Pet owners want a lot from their pet food brands. They want primary proteins that suit what they believe is best for their animal. They want grains or they don't. They want something customized, but it has to be easy to understand.
