Pets are living longer than ever before, and pet parents are looking for solutions that ease transition from adult to senior.

Almost every major pet food trend these days boils down to an increased desire by pet owners to ensure the health and wellbeing of their pets. Longevity is a major part of that conversation, as pets are living longer lives and pet owners want to make those extra years count.

“Pet longevity has become a much bigger priority because the relationship between people and their pets has fundamentally changed,” said Pierre Domps, director of pet nutrition APAC at ADM. “Around the world, pets are viewed as family members, and increasingly pet owners are focused on healthspan — the number of years a pet can remain healthy, active, mobile and engaged in everyday life. Longevity matters, but many owners are equally concerned with helping pets maintain quality of life for as long as possible.”
