Only Natural Pet, a Boulder, CO-based leader in natural pet products, announced that it has been certified as a B Corp from the nonprofit B Lab, becoming the first pet food and treat company in North America to earn designation. Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balance purpose and profit. They are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. B Corp is a community of for-profit companies committed to using business as a “force for good.”
“For Only Natural Pet, the B Corp certification was the logical next step in our Company’s evolution,” said Marty Grosjean, Founder and President of Only Natural Pet. “Since our founding in 2004, Only Natural Pet has had a significant focus on sustainability as part of our philosophy, goals and brand identity. We have always been dedicated to transparency when it comes to pet health and by going through the B Corp assessment and becoming a Certified B Corp, we are able to take our commitment to sustainability to the next level.”
Only Natural Pet is a founding member of the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC), which strives to make the planet healthier for both humans and their pets. Only Natural Pet works closely with other industry leaders to set standards that cover everything from efficient facilities to sustainable products. As members of the PSC, Only Natural Pet already had exposure to parts of the B Corp assessment as PSC makes segments of it available to its members to help them assess their sustainability practices.

It's up to each of us to think about our daily choices and vote every day. Only Natural Pet just made it easier to cast that vote."
As a result of the B Corp assessment, Only Natural Pet found new areas of the business to focus on from a sustainability standpoint. Those areas included supply chain, day-to-day operations, and employee sustainability.
“It is so common to think sustainability is solely about our environment,” said Grosjean. “It’s not—it’s about also being good stewards of our community, our customers, and our employees. As a result of our B Corp assessment, we have identified new ways to ensure we are looking at sustainability from all angles. We want to invest in our employees, our suppliers, and our customers so that they will continue to invest in us.”
